While aiming to prevent pollution caused by waste, SPE also adopts environmentally friendly technologies to ensure the efficient use of natural resources. As a market leader in Europe’s aftermarket for suspension and steering parts for passenger and light commercial vehicles, SPE has earned global recognition through its environmentally conscious production processes.
By prioritizing advanced technology, customer satisfaction, and environmental protection, SPE makes significant contributions to the Turkish economy and has been ranked among Turkey’s top 500 industrial enterprises since 2009.

SPE shapes its environmental and occupational health and safety (OHS) management in line with the environmental legislation of the countries in which it operates and international agreements. Since 2013, SPE has implemented the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and since 2014, the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

SPE applies its environmental and OHS management systems effectively to cover its employees, visitors, subcontractors, and all other stakeholders. In the production processes of parts such as ball joints, tie rod ends, control arms with ball joints, tie rods, stabilizer links, and control arms, the company gives great importance to environmental and OHS policies in operations such as cold forming, hot steel forging, machining, welding, cataphoresis coating, assembly, and packaging.

To ensure that all employees understand and implement environmental and OHS policies, these policies are continuously developed. SPE’s Environmental and OHS Policy is based on respect for people and nature. In order to provide a safe and healthy working environment, everyone is responsible for taking necessary precautions within the scope of their authority. One of our main goals is to protect all our employees and the environment against potential risks.

Goals of Our Environmental and OHS Policy:

• Waste Management: To minimize waste generated from production and other activities and to prevent pollution caused by waste.
• Environmentally Friendly Technologies: To use technologies that have minimal environmental impact and ensure efficient use of natural resources in investments and process designs.
• Hazard Assessment and Prevention: To identify potential hazards and take necessary precautions to protect employees and the environment, and to prevent accidents.
• Employee Participation and Training: To share the results of health and safety activities with employees and support their active participation in improvement efforts.
• Legal Compliance: To fully comply with all legal regulations and other requirements related to the environment, occupational health, and safety.
• Raising Awareness: To regularly conduct training and awareness activities to enhance employees’ awareness of environmental and occupational health issues.
• Continuous Improvement: To continuously review all our processes and practices, measure our impacts on the environment and human health, and improve our weak areas.

Sustainability
SPE translates its long-term strategic plans into actionable goals and disseminates them throughout the organization. These plans are monitored and evaluated through numerical performance indicators. SPE has developed strategic plans valid through 2023 and has set significant objectives accordingly:

• ISO 50001 Energy Management System: To strengthen SPE’s energy efficiency efforts and certify them according to international standards.
• Raising Environmental Awareness: To conduct activities aimed at increasing environmental awareness in society.
• Energy and Water Efficiency: To maximize energy and water efficiency by implementing best practices.

Environmentally Friendly Practices

• Scrubber System: In SPE’s cataphoresis coating process, closed-loop tanks and automatic conveyors are used for safe and eco-friendly coating. Thanks to the scrubber system, chemical vapors emitted from coating tanks are extracted from the environment, purified, and released without polluting the atmosphere.
• Waste Heat Recovery System: Waste heat from cataphoresis coating ovens is directed to a recovery unit, where it is circulated with water and transferred to the natural gas boiler’s pre-heating tank. This method reduces energy costs and lowers emissions.
• Coolant Recovery: Coolant fluids generated during the machining process are purified from particles and reused. This reduces chemical consumption, waste generation, and water usage.

At SPE, we attach great importance to minimizing the environmental impact of our production processes and ensuring sustainability. In the face of today’s challenges such as rapidly depleting energy resources, environmental pollution, and global warming, we adopt correct production techniques and prioritize energy-saving projects to improve resource efficiency.
